Juju Smith-Schuster was born on November 22, 1996, in Long Beach, California. He was raised in a family with Sam and Sammy Toa Schuster as his adoptive parents. Juju's biological parents immigrated to the United States from American Samoa. His mother was a school teacher before becoming a nurse, while his father worked in construction.
Smith-Schuster has two younger siblings, a brother and a sister. He is very close to his family and often speaks highly of them in interviews and on social media. His family has been supportive of his football career since he was a child.
In 2018, Juju bought his parents a house as a way of showing his gratitude for all their support. Both his biological and adoptive parents attended his games, and his adoptive parents were present during his NFL draft in 2017.
